Fixing PACER
It's not Friday. It's not meant to be funny. But yet here we have the Administrative Office making these ludicrous claims about the cost of a free PACER being $2 billion (with a B). (Ok so the snap back by Judge Raymond C. Clevenger III to the government attorney defending this bogus BS *IS* totally hysterical, "Do you have a lot of trouble answering questions generally in life or just when you come in front of the Court?"). Take some time out and read more at Above the Law: Free PACER Would Cost $2B And Other Completely Made Up Garbage The Federal Judiciary Is Peddling

Dropbox - a bad idea
I've never been a particular fan of Dropbox when it comes to client materials. There have been a series of issues and here is the latest. "The malware, which researchers call 'Crutch,' is able to bypass security measures by abusing legitimate tools - including the file-sharing service Dropbox - in order to hide behind normal network traffic." If you use Dropbox to communicate sensitive information to your clients or you have clients that insist on using it, then consider using something else and read more at threat post: Turla's 'Crutch' Backdoor Leverages Dropbox in Espionage Attacks

Gasping at straws?
Normally I'm very in synch with Nick Milton and his ideas. I'm not so sure I am on this one. His post today is about the inclusion of the single line, "Applying knowledge management principles to provide benefit to current and future programmes." in the Rolls Royce annual report. He concludes that "The message to investors therefore is that Knowledge Management is a tool in use at Rolls Royce to secure the delivery of major programmes and projects, both current and future. That's a good way to clarify the value of KM to the business, and to reassure shareholders that their investment is being managed well." That seems to be a rather strong conclusion for one short sentence in a 216 page report. What do you think? Read more at Knoco stories: Why is KM in the Rolls Royce annual report?

Epona & Microsoft 365!
The good folks from Epona are back with a series of updates from Keith Vallely on how to get the most out of your Microsoft 365 subscription. Keith has it right when he writes, "The question for most firms is no longer if they will utilize Microsoft 365, but how much of it will they utilize?" This first of four parts deals with a "little" thing called email! Be sure to check it out.
