Good morning readers!
In today’s news: Pillsbury Winthrop is facing a lawsuit alleging one of its partners helped defraud a UBS Asset Management investment arm out of $145 million. In happier news, Quinn Emanuel is joining Milbank and McDermott in raising associate salaries. Not hard to do since Quinn Emanuel partners received payouts of roughly $9 million for 2025! The firm had posted $2.7 billion in revenue for 2025.
In lateral news, White & Case recruited a duo of Freshfields M&A partners in Tokyo; Dechert added a partner to its New York Global Finance Practice; K&L Gates hired a former Dechert Beijing managing partner as a Hong Kong partner; King & Spalding brought on a partner to its New York Finance and Restructuring group; Vedder welcomed a life sciences attorney asa a shareholder; Hogan Lovells grew its International Arbitration practice; and a Hogan Lovells partner has moved to Eversheds Sutherland. Finally King & Spalding is expanding its footprint in London, signing a 12-year lease adding 8,479 sq ft to its office.
