Bob Ambrogi lets us know of three more lawyers sanctioned by a judge for not using genAI properly. This time Rudwin Ayala, T. Michael Morgan and Taly Goody. "...U.S. District Judge Kelly H. Rankin, in an order filed yesterday, has imposed sanctions on the three attorneys responsible for the filings, finding that they violated Rule 11 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, which requires attorneys to conduct a reasonable inquiry into the law before making legal arguments." I am really at a loss here. Is it stupidity? Lawyers are generally smart people, So maybe ignorance of technology? I don't think you can claim to not be aware of genAI hallucinations in 2025. Sneakiness? How can you expect fake citations to not be uncovered by the other side or the judge? That just leaves laziness. Kevin Bacon joins Baretz+Brunelle/LexFusion?
Benjamin Joyner's post reads more like a press release, but it does allow me to play some of my favorite music and to be honest - the news Baretz+Brunelle bought LexFusion is not insignificant. Given the players in both companies, I would not bet against Mike McNamara statement that "We're one connection away from almost everyone in the legal industry today."

Different strokes for different folks
Vincent, Claude and Grok walk into a bar. Vincent looks up and starts analyzing the movies on the three TVs hanging above the bar. Claude smiles broadly and places all his winning results from the latest rounds of testing on the bar. Grok looks at the bartender and starts screaming, cursing, insulting, and belittling them before storming out of the bar. And yes, there is a market for all three. Read more at:
