Leaving 'one off'
I've had security questionnaires in which clients have asked us to do more than a single, annual pen tests. The idea of continual pen tests is not too far removed from that request. The issue with any sort of point-in-time test is that the very next configuration change, new server added or privileged user account created could be done incorrectly and thus the organization could remain exposed until the next annual test. While the authors at Outpost24 certainly have a bias, the reasoning is solid and the question a good one: "Ready to modernize your application security testing?" Word salad
Identification of what is composed by AI vs what isn't is getting harder and harder. It would not surprise me that at some point it will be literally impossible to detect. Stefanie Johndrow has a fascinating post about how Carnegie Mellon University researchers examined the way LLMs write. It seems that LLMs use present participle clauses and nominalizations at a much higher rate than the average human writer does. And each LLM seems to have its favorite words to use as well - from "camaraderie," "tapestry," and "unease," to "palpable," and "intricate." Sadly my favorite British word, "bespoke," didn't show up.
