I don't normally plug upcoming webinars, but this one by ACEDS intrigued me. I know two of the four speakers (and would expect a great conversation from them) but what has me so curious is the title. AI replacing people is a common topic. But looking at it from the perspective of AI powered paralegals replacing lawyers is an interesting twist. I'll be driving to West Liberty University for child #3s graduation, but I have signed up and I may subject everyone in the car to listening. Forget the robots, watch for the paralegals
Channeling his inner Mark Twain, Bob Ambrogi examines the latest data from the American Bar Association employment report and writes, "the legal job market is showing not just resilience, but growth." Bob concludes, "That means that, for now at least, aspiring lawyers can breathe a sigh of relief: The robots aren't yet taking away your jobs - they're just helping you prepare for the interviews." Show cause
I was surprised to see this surface first in a nonlegal news stream. And off the top of my memory, I believe 30 defective citations and hallucinations sets a new record. US District Judge Nina Wang was not a happy camper. "Wang ordered attorneys Christopher Kachouroff and Jennifer DeMaster to show cause as to why the court should not sanction the defendants, law firm, and individual attorneys." Show cause?
