Liar, liar, pants on fire
As you read this post, you have to keep in mind it was written by Token and they certainly have a stake in the market. In my mind the takeaway here is that MFA, like everything else connected with cybersecurity, is not 100% bullet proof. If you haven't looked through your MFA policies recently or turned on some of the anti-fatigue features, use this post as a call to action. Is it over yet?
So "slop" is part of our official vocabulary these days. Daniel Binns post is the first I've seen expand that and label the era of "overproduced, low-quality AI content" as the 'Slopocene.' (As a side note, how do you even pronounce that? Google AI isn't sure but said that based on the structure of the word and its likely intention to echo terms like "Holocene" or "Anthropocene", the pronunciation would be: Slop-uh-seen) In reading on, it seems Jack MacGregor announced on X that "the anthropocene is over, we now live in the slopocene." It is true, we seem to be living with this and it's getting worse, not better. I had to dive down a rabbit hole of the various epochs and learned that Anthropocene, is not officially recognized as a geological epoch by the International Union of Geological Sciences. Suffice it to say, when we leave the Slopocene, what era will we enter? Will it be better or will it be worse? Maybe I'll retreat to the Jurassic epoch this weekend. Anyone want to join me?
