Are you surprised?

If this post surprises you at all, then please come out from under the rock. Of course threat actors are going to abuse Gemini. They will abuse any tool that will help them get what they want. It's unfortunate that the threat actors seem to embrace and sometimes master new technology faster then more honest people. BriefCatch + WordRake

Bob Ambrogi covers the world of standalone editing software for legal professionals and writes, "Now that list is one shorter, as BriefCatch has acquired WordRake." The modern law firm

I always pay special attention to post when I see they are authored by Jordan Furlong. If I had to try to summarize his post this morning it would be something along the lines of "this is why law firms can't have nice AI things." He sets us all up with the wondrous promise and possibilities of artificial intelligence. Then the hammer comes down. He writes, "But therein lies the problem, and the key to understanding how, in other respects, AI is a terrible fit for law firms - because most law firms still define 'productivity' in 19th-century terms." But Jordan is not done with the hammer. He goes on, "We like to say that 'AI augments the lawyer,' but I suspect that within a few years, especially in high-volume areas, we'll find ourselves saying that 'the lawyer augments the AI.'" I like his clarification, "Notice that I'm saying displacement, not replacement. Lawyers aren't going to disappear (or they shouldn't, unless they really play their cards badly); but they are going to switch seats." He is focusing on lawyers so he does not comment on the law firm staff losing their jobs to AI. Jordan will definitely make you think. Proceed to read at your own risk at Slaw: Towards AI-Centric Law Firms
