What's the Point of Law School When AI Can Pass the Bar?

Matthew Gault has a fascinating post about Advait Paliwal, co-creator of an agentic AI system, Einstein, which can "live the life of a student for them." That concept is wild enough, but then Advait has the most bizarre comparison for the creation of Einstein: "I think about horses. They used to pull carriages, but when cars came around, I'd argue horses became a lot more free. "They can do whatever they want now. It would be weird if horses revolted and said 'no, I want to pull carriages, this is my purpose in life.'" Huh? What!? What if I created an agentic AI system for law students and call it "Cicero" or "Deng Xi?" Would the logic be the same? Tell me if you want to pull a carriage and do a double hat tip to Stephen Abram for finding such a fascinating post. Read more at 404 Media: What's the Point of School When AI Can Do Your Homework?

35% and rising

"In an illustration of the severity of the current memory shortage, HP Inc. CFO Karen Parkhill said that RAM has gone from accounting for 'roughly 15 percent to 18 percent' of HP PCs' bill of materials in its fiscal Q4 2025 to 'roughly 35 percent' for the rest of the year." Wheel of misfortune

It seems like everyone has AI, but have you updated your incident response plan with an AI incident response? What is that? According to this post, "An AI incident response plan is a formal process that guides an organization to more efficiently and effectively recognize, contain, manage, and remediate risks that manifest due to the performance or actions of an AI system. This includes cybersecurity attacks, ethical violations, legal issues, and other outcomes that cause negative or unexpected outcomes to individuals, organizations, and/or society at large." The unknown author(s) offer up 14 key steps toward building such a plan. Be prepared and be sure to read more at PivotPointSecurity Blog: Got AI? Then Get an AI Incident Response Plan.
