Information Collection and Use
PinHawk registration forms request certain contact and profile information (user name, email address, etc.) Some of the requested information is needed to receive PinHawk services; other information is optional. The required information is clearly marked as such. Periodically, PinHawk may include an optional short reader poll to help us tailor our content to reader preferences. PinHawk also tracks the clicks on our email links to determine the popularity of our newsletter sections.
PinHawk may use this information to:
- provide more relevant, personalized, targeted news and information;
- help target advertising messages included in our electronic newsletters; and
- help us respond to your feedback.
No personal information is shared with any outside organization, advertiser or other third party without first obtaining the explicit consent of the subscriber.
PinHawk may collect aggregated statistical information about our subscribers and the ways in which they use our products and services. This information does not identify you personally. We may use this information for market research purposes and to improve the quality of the services we offer. We reserve the right to disclose aggregated, non-personally identifiable information collected from our users to third parties for any purpose.
This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Our hardware infrastructure is housed in a controlled access facility that restricts access to authorized individuals with positive identification. The network infrastructure is protected by a firewall and traffic is monitored and logged both on the firewall and on the servers. All administrative activities are carried out over secure, encrypted links between our offices and hosting facility. Administrative access is limited to authorized employees on encrypted links, specific remote administration protocols and IP addresses. Member information is backed up daily to protect against accidental loss. All employees with access to user information are trained in PinHawk security policies and practices. PinHawk conducts internal audits of its security systems to ensure the safety of the website.
In the event that a user contacts PinHawk via email or using a feedback form, the user will not be subject to receive any communication other than a response to the email, unless specifically requested by the user.
Tell A Friend Feature
When a user elects to participate in our referral program to inform a friend about PinHawk or a PinHawk newsletter, we ask that user for the friend's name and email address. PinHawk stores this information for the sole purpose of sending the friend, as the user requests, either a one-time email or a two week free trial to the PinHawk newsletter. If a two week trial is selected by the user, the friend may choose to stop receiving the emails at any time by clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ link.
Each PinHawk email contains an easy, two-click automated way for you to cease receiving our email newsletters. The system automatically excludes you from future mailings. To unsubscribe, click the ‘unsubscribe’ link just below the banner heading in the PinHawk email. To subscribe to receive the PinHawk email for a full year, click the ‘subscribe’ link just below the banner heading in the PinHawk email.
To change subscription information or to make any suggestions regarding PinHawk services, click on the ‘comment’ link just below the banner heading in the PinHawk email.

Although we do everything within our power to protect the privacy of the information provided by the users of our site, we reserve the right to share user information in the event that it is necessary to comply with any subpoena, court orders, or legal process.
